Adult Mental Health First Aid
This is a 2 day workshop. You are booking to attend both days (7th October 2025 & 14th October 2025)

Overview:
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first-aid basis.
MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis. You will learn skills to support adults with their emotional wellbeing in your workplace, including taking care of your own mental health.
- A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support
PARKING:
Car-parking is available for visitors to the Atkins Centre and Centre Staff alike at the front of the school, please enter by the gates from Sevenoaks Way (opposite Cornwall Drive). Please do not park in unmarked spaces, or in marked visitors’ spaces (unless previously booked). Parking is provided on a first come, first served, basis. If there are no spaces available there is alternative parking for Atkins Centre visitors on the roads surrounding the College. Please use the pedestrian access at the front of the College on Sevenoaks Way, if necessary.
Visitors to the Atkins Centre are advised that under no circumstances are they to seek to park/gain access via the rear of the College, to ensure the College maintains its safeguarding responsibilities.
DRESS CODE:
Just a reminder that all attendees are expected to be dressed in a professional and business-like manner unless otherwise stated in the event details.
ULEZ Charges:
The Atkins Centre falls just inside the new ULEZ congestion zone, which means if you have a non-compliant car you will need to pay a £12.50 fee on the day you visit the centre. The government have deemed this a non-claimable expense meaning that TKAT are not allowed to refund it to staff.
A lot of cars are ULEZ compliant, so you won’t have to pay the fee. check your car by clicking here
If you don’t have a compliant car, then you need to pay the fee by midnight on the third day following your journey. Visit Transport for London for information on how to pay.
