Meet the Team

Ella Roberts

Ella has been in education for over 20 years and has worked in a variety of Schools across East Sussex, before joining TKAT in 2014 becoming Deputy Director of Learning in 2016 and then Director of Teaching School in 2019.

She has held a variety of senior leadership roles including Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher and Deputy Executive Regional Director. She has also supported many schools in a consultancy capacity including leadership development, teacher coaching, assessment and maths support. She is an EMCC Accredited Coach at Senior Practitioner level.

Ella is passionate about high quality teaching and learning and ensuring all children have the best educational experience possible. As Director of LDN,  Ella is responsible for the development of staff at all levels across the trust ensuring all schools and staff have access to high quality professional development, leadership development, school to school support and coaching.

 

Over the last 15 years Gemma has taught in several secondary schools in Hampshire.

As the Assistant Teacher at Havant Academy she was responsible for teaching and learning, curriculum development and mental health and wellbeing.  Gemma is passionate about supporting staff through coaching and supervision and is excited to work with our next generation of teachers and mentors.

 

Cat has been in education for 20 years, and started her career working in an inner London school. As well as being the Primary Development Lead, she is currently a part-time Deputy Headteacher at Seymour Primary school.

Ensuring the best outcomes for all students is at the heart of why Cat works for TKAT and has been with the organisation for over 10  years.

Cat was previously a Lead Practitioner, working across TKAT, where she focussed on incremental coaching in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning.  As part of her Lead Practitioner role, Cat became an EMCC accredited coach at practitioner level. The role also provided an opportunity for her to deepen her understanding of high quality teaching and learning. 

Cat has a deep belief that good quality professional development should be available to all staff.  As Professional Development Lead, Cat is responsible for the quality of professional development on offer. Her role entails working with individual schools and clusters to ensure they are creating pathways and building expertise that can be shared trust wide.

 

 

Following over 20 years working in finance, Steve decided upon a career change.

He joined TKAT in 2015 to support the Group Director of Learning, lead school headteacher, and strategic partners in providing leadership, and development/growth to the trust and wider partnerships.

Steve now supports the Director of Professional Learning in the administration, and development of the Learning and Development Network through all methods of communication.

 

Over a 29 year career Sarah has taught from pre-school to Year 8 working in a range of schools and settings in various roles including as a Primary Deputy Head and Headteacher.

She has a passion for books and reading and sees it as a huge privilege to work with children, and now teacher trainees.  Throughout her career she has mentored and coached many trainee teachers on both university and school based routes.

Rachel's career in education spans 25 years including working as Deputy Head Teacher in three different secondary schools in Kent and East Sussex, as well as a secondment into a primary school leadership team.

Rachel joined TKAT in 2014 as Director of Learning taking responsibility for teacher training and leadership development across the Trust. Rachel feels privileged to now be working with our newest entrants into the profession and hopes to inspire the next generation of exceptional teachers and leaders. She draws on her additional knowledge and skills as Director of Wellbeing across the Trust to support her in this role.

With over 10 years’ experience in Primary Education, Josie has taught and led across a range of Primary Schools in Surrey and West Sussex. Josie is the SCITT Programme Lead for the City region and is also proud to work at The Mill Primary school in West Sussex. 

Josie has worked in many TKAT primaries over the years and really feels part of the #onetkatfamily. Within her career, she has developed as a knowledgeable classroom practitioner and subsequently lead in various areas such as teaching and learning as well as contributing to whole school development in senior leadership roles. As her career developed, she always knew that being part of initial teacher training was where her passion belonged. Therefore, being part of the SCITT team is both a privilege and honour to be working alongside others that want the very best for our trust's trainee teachers. Josie believes that we have a duty to work together to share success and develop education for all, for the better. 

Over the last 16 years Hanna has taught across various primary settings, leading a range of subjects and teams along the way.

As a previous Deputy Head Teacher, Hanna led on curriculum, teacher development and ITT. She was also a Trust Teaching and Learning Lead. 

Alongside her Primary Programme Lead role, Hanna supports school improvement as a Lead Practitioner for TKAT. Hanna is a keen reader and writer who is passionate about developing teachers and improving educational outcomes for children. 

Over the past 26 years, Andy has taught at five comprehensive schools and worked as an Assistant Headteacher and now a Vice Principal.

Andy leads the SCITT Secondary Programme for the Coast region is the Lead for TKAT’s Teaching School Alliance (Coast region).

Andy is very proud to work in Chichester High School. He believes that the Outstanding Ofsted status is testimony to the dedication of the staff to ensure that every student reaches their true potential.

Alisa joined TKAT SCITT in October 2022.  Alisa has 30 years of Administrative experience, working in a variety of settings, including financial and educational. Her previous post was Managing a Pilates and Wellbeing centre.    

Alisa now supports Jo Fogg, her Administration manager and the SCITT team with attendance, Professional Mentor and Mentor support and all other administrative tasks and enjoys being part of the SCITT team and working with our next generation of teachers.

Jo was a Home Office Civil Servant for 26 years. Her career at TKAT began in 2006, when she joined Kemnal Technology College as Clerk to the Governing Body. From there, she was a Cover Supervisor and then moved to the role as PA to the Headteacher.

Jo was part of the original team that formed TKAT SCITT in 2012, which initially began with 7 academies in Bromley, Bexley and Essex. 

She now oversees the administration of the SCITT including all of our School Direct Lead Schools: Rainham School for Girls, Debden Park High School and Chichester High School.
