TKAT's Ella Roberts is panel member at the Teacher Development Trust's National Conference

TKAT's Ella Roberts, Director of our Learning and Development Network and EMCC Accredited Coach, was honoured to be invited to speak as a panel member at the Teacher Development Trust's National Conference, held in London on 30th January. 

Ella is passionate about high quality teaching and learning and ensuring all children have the best educational experience possible. As Director of TKATs Learning and Development Network (LDN), she is committed to the development of all staff both within and beyond the trust, striving to promote a culture of continuous development by empowering colleagues to continue to learn, innovate and share knowledge. 

The collaborative conference brought together leaders of professional development, leaders of teams and those interested in developing themselves or others as evaluative, empowered practitioners.

The aim of the conference was to raise awareness and reinforce the key messages of 'Unleashing Great Teaching' in the light of what we know now, for discussion, critical engagement with research, reflection, collaboration and action. 

The event included a variety of speakers including David Weston, Sir Steve Lancashire, Dame Sue John , Sam Sims and Mary Myatt.

Ella engaged in a panel discussion alongside Haili Hughes (Director of Education at Iris Connect), Ben Levinson OBE, and Sinead McBreaty (CEO at Education Support)  The theme of the discussion was 'Looking after and developing staff to create resilient, thriving, expert schools'.

Ella spoke about the importance of attracting, developing and retaining great teachers and leaders, and how it is critical to building a brighter future for all children and young people across the country, regardless of background, challenge or need. As part of the panel discussion, Ella explored the need to support, nurture and develop our teachers and leaders, both in terms of their practice and their wellbeing.
